2012 has been a huge year for talented LGBT musicians in the hip-hop and R&B genres.  Many of our talents have really stepped up their game with recordings that could rival today’s mainstream divas and crooners.  The G-List Society could not be any more prouder than the efforts and releases that have been shared with us in 2012.

Here is a new song we are falling in love with.  The song is called “Essence” which is performed by soulful emcee Long Shaw and one of favorite singers/producers Damien Nova.  While listening to this soulfully, ecclectic hip-hop gem, we cannot stop think about one of favorite emcees, the late great Guru.  The essence of “Essence” flourishes with a harmonic chorus by Nova and very poetic lyrics by Shaw.
