Black gay money support

If you are a gay or lesbian of color and are proud to be in your skin, please take the time to read this article below.  Otherwise, we understand that you may not even care enough about yourself to make a difference in your life and the lives of your friends of LGBT people of color like you.

We ran into this article from Discreet City and appreciated its message so much that we had to share on our website.  Discreet City’s Nick Delmacy wrote a detailed essay recently identifying the reasons and solutions of the lack of financial support within the Black and Latino LGBT communities.

With the growing representation in media and entertainment created by everyday individuals among LGBT people of color including The G-List Society, Discreet City, 3LWTV, Rod 2,0, ADTV, No Shade, Drama Queenz among many others, how supportive financially, and even in viewership, are you and your peers when it comes to media and entertainment highlighting LGBT people of color in comparison to mainstream LGBT and mainstream entertainment and media at-large? Be honest. Your truth is neither good or bad, but it an opportunity for solutions.

Provided below are the quotes that intrigued us to keep reading, and we hope you do the same.

Money. It’s the driving force to everything. Having money can give individuals and organizations a great deal of power and freedom. When you consider the idea of pooling of money from multiple people in a community, this power and freedom is doubled tenfold. What if the black gay community employed this tactic?

Rapper J.R. Continues Hip-Hop Feud With Rappers By Exposing Nude Photos

JR - King of Gay Music 3

Get ready to be exposed to some hotmess.org.  Chicago rapper J.R. – King of Gay Music continues to stay in the headlines in the LGBT community for his ongoing feuds with fellow rappers and media who are disgusted with his self-appointed namesake and his lyrical skills.  Over the years, J.R. has retaliated with diss records and videos addressing the hate he has received; however, he latest video takes the cake — pun intended.

J.R. airs out his frustrations over LGBT media, producers and rappers who often clowned his music especially claiming that the disses are coming from people with little or no new music in recent months or years.  In particular, he takes aim at New York rapper LastO, who happens to be one of favorite lyricists of the LGBT community, over a comment made on Facebook allegedly about J.R.  Being the one to take a rivalry to another (or lower) level, J.R. released a nude photo of LastO (allegedly) in his video at 3:50.  Let’s just say the position might make a lot of tops happy.

LastO Preps Fans For The Anticipation Of “The Charm” Album

LastO6

This past weekend must have been a busy one for New York hip-hop artist LastO.  Two hot tracks leaked online minutes apart.  Now, the rapper has released a new video announcing to fans about his new album “The Charm.”  LastO takes viewers onto his journey of recording the album where he states how he pressured himself to rhyme at his lyrical best.

Although his talent outshines many of his contemporaries, we have seen the growth thus far with “Don’t Trust ‘Em” and “The City.”  We hope to hear a few more gems before the release date.

NEW SONG: “The City” by LastO (featuring Stern Savage)

LastO12

Our favorite gay rapper LastO drops another gem in anticipation for his new album “The Charm.”  ”The City” has been played for the fourth time today (mainly because we want to make sure we know why we love this track).  The New York emcee, once again, spits firing lines such as “Lick my anus hole.  That’s what God made it for.”  PAUSE.  Did he just say that?  That is more provocative than all the outfits Lady Gaga has worn in 2011 so far.

Sidenote: We need to find out who is producing LastO’s new music.  The production is as stellar as an album track by an A-list commercial rapper like Nas or Rick Ross.

If you are new to hearing a LastO tune, many people inside and outside the LGBT community have compared him to rap icon Jay-Z.  If you are disbelief that a gay rapper can flow to standards that high, press the play button below.  We have converted you into a believer.

NEW SONG: “Don’t Trust ‘Em” by LastO (featuring Milan Zanotti)

LastO & Empress Milan

As New York rapper LastO prepares for the release of his new album “The Charm,” a new song “Don’t Trust ‘Em” leaks.  In his typical fashion, the hip-hop beats are heavy and cinematic as his flow delivers one punch after another to the lovers and friends he cannot trust.  Transgender rapper Milan Zanotti (a.k.a. Empress Milan) spits her ride-or-die chick lyrics while showing aggressiveness to the man she submits.

The track is dope, and we’re excited about LastO’s new album.
