California vlogger Newnue (a.k.a. Lester Matthews) connected with our favorite R&B crooner Damien Crawford to jazz up his web series theme song.  We must say that Crawford really delivered…as if we were expecting mediocrity…NOT!

Because The G-List Society uses our platform to provide a spotlight for LGBT personalities, we are incorporating audio interviews onto our blog and YouTube for easy access to get to know the musicians, politicians, authors, personalities and other notables.

All interviews with the LGBT notables will be conducted by The G-List Society creator Waddie G.  Get used to his voice and his passion to introducing and familiarizing you to LGBT personalities who deserve your attention as entertainers and leaders who make our community more dimensional in beauty, talent and strength than one can imagine.

Originally conducted in March 2013, check out our latest interview with R&B singing sensation Damien Crawford.  Waddie G. was extremely excited to make Crawford his first guest in this series of interviews and was so disappointed in himself for being unable to unveil the interview on its intended March 1 date due to technology complications.  Fortunately, miracles allowed us to be able to finalize the interview for upload and we hope you enjoy the interview.

The New Jersey crooner talked about his single “Turnt Up,” a stellar collaboration with New York emcee Will Sheridan, and the song’s housing EP titled Champion.  Waddie G. gave room to Crawford to open up about the challenges of being an independent artist and assuming many duties that get his music out to his growing fanbase in the LGBT community.  We also took questions from our subscribers which allowed the singer/songwriter to open about his love life and touring to support Champion.

What are you waiting for?  Press play to listen to the first audio interview from The G-List Society featuring our favorite crooner Damien Crawford.

@DamienCrawford Announces New Single With @WillSheridan

"Turnt Up" by Damien Crawford

“Turnt Up” by Damien Crawford

The G-List Society is very excited about the upcoming music releases by our LGBT music artists, but I make nooooooooooo secret that I go hard for R&B/pop singer Damien Crawford.  His 2012 album The Reign was on heavy rotation here, and the people who have yet to hear the record are simply unfortunate…but I will find a way to remedy that.

After noticing the support that he gets here at The G-List Society, Crawford reached out to me personally to apprise me that a new album is on the horizon for 2013.  Apparently, he did not lie.  Today the “Down 4 U” crooner” hit all of us supporting media via Twitter to let us know that his new single will drop in a matters of days.

Yippie!!!

Check out the announcement of the single and its surprisingly hot guest feature and release date below.

The G-List Society had the greatest time reveling among friends, notables and beautiful people in our community at the 2nd Annual Gentlemen’s Ball over the weekend in Atlanta.  Gee Smalls and Juan Session at G.SPOT Productions, along with their very attentive staff, executed a remarkable black-tie event where hundreds of men and women in Atlanta (in addition to those who traveled from NYC, DC, Philly, Chicago, etc.) dined over a three-course meal and enjoyed live music and fun times all in the spirit of charity.  AID Atlanta was the organizational recipient of this charitable gala.

TV personality Eva Marcille served as the celebrity hostess of the event where she read a beautiful ode to gentlemen. Event hosts Gee Smalls and Juan Session closed the award ceremony portion of the Ball with an endearing dedication to each that touched hundreds of onlookers in the audience. Powerhouse vocalist Frenchie Davis rendered a show-stopping rendition of “I Am Changing” to end the festivities which was met with a thunderous applause.

Check out our fun-filled video below where hundreds and hundreds of women and men dined, danced and enjoyed the company of one another in ambiance of celebrating our community.  You may notice a handful of familiar faces including Lonnell Williams (3LWTV), Damien Crawford, Maurice Jamal (“Friends & Lovers”), Rafer Singleton Johnson, Miss Lawrence “Real Housewives of Atlanta”, Anthony Antoine, Kevin Simmons (“The Skorpion Show”), Laurence Pickeney, Neko Bunch, Kidd Dupree, Paisley Jackson, Rod Watkins, Tommy Bennett, Rameses Frederick (Urban Socialites) and others.

Over the weekend, The G-List Society traveled to Atlanta, GA to celebrate the second anniversary of the illustrious gala The Gentlemen’s Ball.  Hosted by Gee Smalls and Juan Session of G.SPOT Productions, the affair drew hundreds of men and women donning their finest after-five attire which was a sight to behold.

A who’s who of Black LGBT notables and personalities attended this glorious event.  ”Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Miss Lawrence was a delight to briefly chat.  Movie producer Maurice Jamal beamed about his new role as a producer of an upcoming LGBT music festival in Atlanta.  Lonnell Williams expressed his appreciation of such an event that was well-attended by LGBT people of color.  Damien Crawford gushed about finishing his upcoming studio…which will be previewed here first with an exclusive interview.  Radio personalities Kidd Dupree and Paisley Jackson were hard at work interviewing the LGBT notables including yours truly.  Neko Bunch talked about upcoming events he will be hosting throughout 2013.  Kevin Simmons talked about his action-packed weekend agenda and having fun staying at reality-TV star Towanda Braxton’s house.  Kid Cort talked about helping Simmons getting dressed up for the affair. Travel host Laurence Pickeney was the first pleasant face we were able to catch up with.

If you thought that men and women in the LGBT community could not gather in a celebratory event without division, you are gainfully mistaken.  If you presumed that this was just a Black LGBT event, you would be bountifully misguided.  If you could not imagine our people gathering together by the hundreds for a beautiful sit-down dinner and gala, today is your lucky day to become open-minded.

Get into these photos of our beautiful men and women below.
