THE G-SOUND: “A Glass Of Finally” by @BSlade [MUST LISTEN...MUST! MUST! MUST!]

B Slade

B Slade

When we talk about the discography of gospel singer-turned-multi-genre acrobatic singer/songwriter/producer B. Slade, it is unfair to come up with a top ten song list or the best song he has ever recorded.  That is true until we came across his new joint “A Glass Of Glory.”  In short, this autobiographical anthem can only be summed in one word = EPIC.

This stadium rock, gospel tinged tune may contain lyrics that are pages from Slade’s own life, but every word mentioned in that song resonate with everyone who has once upon a time came to finally own who they are beyond sexual, racial, gender and religious differences.  This powerful anthem echoes salvation for those who struggle as an “outsider” in their communities and families.  ”Finally” can heal willing wallowing soul who is waist deep in self-pity.

Enough of our praise of this tune.  Check out the glory for yourself by pressing play below.

Award-winning singer/songwriter B. Slade released a brand new single titled “Tipsy.”  The bass-driven club groove features a rap cameo from K-0TiC Couture, and the song gives LIFE in the pizzazz style that B. Slade can only do.  The vibe is very reminiscent of Beyonce’s “Diva” and Rihanna’s “Numb.”

THE G-SOUND: “High Az Eva” by @Kaoz featuring @Quentinonline (Quentin Adams) [VIDEO]

Kaoz - High Az Eva2

Kaoz - High Az Eva1

Fans of Minneapolis rapper Kaoz shall rejoice.  If you have yet to become familiar with one of the dopest gay hip-hop artists ever, take notice now as the “Still Standing” emcee takes center stage once again with his new album #enterSextions.  With the new album due February 2013, Kaoz kicks off the new album with his brand new single “High Az Eva.”

Catch the double-entendre of the song title as Kaoz compares falling in love to the joy of getting high off a favorite drug.  Wordplay is never a detriment for this budding icon as he cleverly paints of a picture of what getting high is like and tying that into being high on his relationship.

Kaoz dropped the music video yesterday to further promote the single, and it is the high quality effort that The G-List Society loves about this dude.

BLACK GAYS ROCK!!! 50 Most Impressionable, Influential & Inspirational Black LGBT Personalities Of 2012 (Pt. 2)

Will Williams

Black Gays Rock 4

When noticing that more than 37,000 people read BLACK GAYS ROCK!!! 50 Most Impressionable, Influential & Inspirational Black LGBT Personalities Of 2012 (Pt. 1) that debuted on Friday, The G-List Society could not be any happier than to unveil the top 20 people of 2012.  Again, there will be a couple of surprises that are on this list as well as not making the entire top 50. The top two slots would not have been your guess on this list or picks until you read and understand why.  With that aside, let’s set egos aside and celebrate the people who really made huge impressions in 2012.

Drum roll please…

50-WassupNATL

20. Wassup N ATL and founder/CEO Mario Harris (party promoter)

For the past decade, the Black gay/lesbian party scenes have seen so many great promoting groups’ come and go over disbanding associates, greed, retirement or lack of community interest to the point that people cannot keep up with what or who is new and current in the scene.  Since 2002, Wassup N ATL has become a fixture in Atlanta’s social scene with weekly parties and pride events that revelers gather until capacity.  Harris now travels the Wassup N ATL brand with “Invasion” events that extend to additional major cities including Washington DC, New York and Charlotte.

50-DeBorah

19. De’Borah (singer/TV star)

This beautifully gifted singer from Chicago stole the hearts of America this fall as the somewhat shy yet very personable talent who graced the hit TV singing competition “The Voice.”  De’Borah instantly inspired many viewers on the first episode of the season as she revealed her lesbian identity.  Her fans were also enamored with her religious family’s support.  The media could not get enough of De’Borah, her talent, her fashion and her charisma up until the very episode where coach Christina Aguilera [wrongfully] eliminated her [in favor one of least impressionable contestants].  The future seems bright for this Chicago songbird who avows her love of karaoke and cites Ellen DeGeneres as her fashion inspiration.

THE G-SOUND: “Sonshine 2″ by B.Slade (featuring Olana & Enxo)

BSlade4

Get into this new B.Slade track titled “Sonshine 2″ from his critically acclaimed Deep Purple album.  The urban-pop produced tune boasts a gospel feel that put B.Slade on the map (when he was formerly Tonex).  Featuring guest vocals by Olana and raps by Enxo, “Sonshine” is a feel good tune that encourages listeners to let their lights shine and be a great example of positivity wherever they are.

One cannot help to get into this groove and feel good, minus the unnecessarily corny ad lib in the chorus (which is very California-sounding).  Press play and get into the jam below. Read more

THE G-SOUND: “Serial Monogamist” by B.Slade

BSlade2

If you are looking to win a lover through song, “Serial Monogamist” by the talented B.Slade’s “Deep Purple” album is a guaranteed winner.  ”Monogamist” is lover’s anthem declaring one’s sincerest devotion over a backdrop of new-wave meet soul.  Though the song is about being a faithful lover, Slade’s breakdown rap doesn’t throw the unabashedly promiscuous under the bus.

“Serial Monogamist” has the potential of being a worldwide smash hit for a mainstream pop artist such as Chris Brown or Usher or a teetering music superstar like Jamie Foxx or Frank Ocean.  It’s one of the genius songs we hope the masses get to enjoy.

We have played this song repetitively since the album’s debut in May.  Press play below.  You may put this jam on repeat too.

THE G-SOUND: B.Slade Sings “America The Beautiful” Like No Other

BSlade

If you believe that you have heard the best rendition of the United States anthem “America the Beautiful,” then you need to stack this rendition from multi-talented vocalist B.Slade against your own.  We understand that Mr. Slade may have oversang some of the American standard, but don’t front.  The dude threw down.  How many of your favorite male singers can do all those vocal acrobatics while keeping it manly?
