Nathan Seven Scott

Our long-time friend and LGBT media ally DJ Baker of Da-Doo Dirty Show is calling out b*llshit on another New York LGBT personality.

Recently, Baker and his co-hosts Swanny River and Splash Tee took to the airwaves to call out author/blogger Nathan “Seven” Scott on an alleged scam to con supporters and well-wishers to “save” Nathan’s “ass.”

Scott sent online funding campaign e-mails to his contact list to support him as he is going through an anal surgery that will allegedly save his life.  This devastating news demonstrate how real the circumstances are often preached about how unemployment and uninsured health care affect the African-American communities, especially in the populous areas of the east coast.

In Scott’s one-minute video message to the mail recipients, he shares his experience as an unemployed, uninsured man in dire need of help. See the screenshots below.

Da Doo Dirty Show hosts, in particular Baker, immediately declared the donation need as a “legal scam,” referring to Scott’s donation site GoFundMe.com. The donation is backed by credible journalist sources including CNN.  Yet, Baker points out the sour business deals that Scott has villain-ized whose alleged victims include popular personalities Jared Paul Shuler and Adam Benjamin Irby, former co-hosts of Scott’s now-defunct “7″ show.

Here are our thoughts on the campaign.  There are two people in The G-List Society family, including Waddie G., who encountered very sketchy moments with Scott a few years ago on a “business” front.  As DJ Baker mentioned in the audio recording below, Scott’s falling out over spoiled “business” deals with other well-known LGBT personalities out of New York City have been the talk of the town.  Nonetheless, we would like to give Mr. Scott the benefit of the doubt and believe that his fundraising needs are real with the exception of one very interesting component of his need sounds very questionable.  Scott’s donation goal is $7,777.00, as shown above.  While it is possible that Scott’s medical expenses total that amount coincidentally, but because  of Scott’s notoriety or infamy in New York’s Black LGBT social scene has been built around his fascination for the number seven, questioning the goal amount requested does not sound unfair at all.

Regardless, we wish Nathan speedy recovery should his ailment is a real situation.

Check out the campaign below and Da Doo Dirty Show’s “expose”, and let us know what you think?
