Our friends at the HIV research organization Al Sura hosted their annual Al Sura In Black affair a couple weeks ago, and it seems like hundreds of revelers traveled to the L’Enfant Hotel to party in great spirits. The purpose of the Al Sura In Black event is to raise awareness to the organization’s mission.  Al Sura sets to improve communication, educate and promote awareness through advocacy and empowerment while addressing health disparities including, but not limited to, the fight against HIV/AIDS in our community.

Al Sura provided us almost 200 good photos from the event.  We had such a fun time perusing over these photos that we wish we were there.  For now, we will share with you this batch of fun-filled photos and unleash the remaining photos later this week.

THE G-SCENE: En Cirque Noir Inaugural Ball w/ Warren Huntley & Friends (Washington DC) [PHOTOS]

The G-List Society joined over 200 celebrators at the illustrious U.S. Presidential Inaugural celebration at the Warren Huntley hosted “En Cirque Noir: Inaugural 2013 Celebration” inside Washington DC’s lofty Lost Society lounge.  The exclusive affair drew many notables and personalities in the LGBT community from all over the U.S. and allies.

The snazzy affair contained a live band, of its singer whom we caught singing a stirring rendition of Tamar Braxton’s “Love & War,” champagne toasts, two floors of mingling and dancing and friends celebrating in the spirit of American progression.

We were very fortunate to run into the likes of Nathan Hale Williams, Reese Brown, J.R. Rolley, Jai Laurence, J. Omar Tutler, Antar Wright and Neko Bunch.  As always, it was great to chum it up with these great people.

We got great scoop in the midst of our mingling.  Fresh from a breath-taking trip in Dominican Republic, travel guru/philanthropist Laurence Pinckney gushed about a trip he is looking to host there.  We saw photos of the dwelling out there, and those photos look like the kind of paradise we would love to luxuriate.  Pop singer Marck Angel was excited to announce his new single right before he leaked the single’s cover.  We look forward to playing the follow-up to his smash hit and music video “Deep.”  We even had a nice discussion about how much the LGBT music scene has progressed in recent years.  Veteran R&B crooner Anthony Antoine revealed to us that a new single and music video is on the horizon.  ”Finding Me” web series producer Jared Paul Shuler announced new episodes and an impending relationship with us at The G-List Society. That is awesome news.  Isn’t it?

Enough talk about all the excitement in the gala.  Check out the photos for yourself.

Washington DC was the ultimate destination to celebrate the Inauguration of Barack Obama’s second term as President of the United States over the past weekend. On Monday, January 21, black-tie galas and watch celebrations ran abundantly over DC including the black-tie affair we attended that was hosted by Atlanta celebrity event planner Warren A. Huntley.  Titled “En Cirque Noir” men and women in the LGBT community and allies attended this exclusive affair inside the Lost Society lounge where everyone donned their finest threads and reveled in seeing long lost friends, networking and celebrating President Obama.

Check out all the action from The G-List Invasion camera as attendees enjoyed themselves over exquisite interior decor, sounds from a live band, nostalgic music spun in the upper floor and the excitement to catch up with lost acquaintances.

THE G-CHRONICLES: My Favorite Facebook Profile Photos Of 2012

Waddie with Oprah and Lonnell

Waddie with Oprah and Lonnell

2012 was a WONDERFUL year.  It was such a good year to me that I am “smiling from ear to ear” as I am typing this post.  Thanks to social media outlets like Facebook, I can track my memories and share with my friends, my family and The G-List Society supporters and later look back to these “online albums” and bask in the glorious memories that shaped my life.

Though I boast hundreds of photos of myself, celebrities, WTF candid shots and sayings I value on my Facebook page, only a select handful make the coveted profile file that even people beyond my network can see.  These photos capture the proudest, happiest and most emotional moments of 2012, and I would like to share these following photos with you as I stroll down memory lane describing the best and most memorable moments of 2012.
